Google Spreadsheets – a useful tool for u.

Posted by Anish

A few weeks ago, Google Labs (http://labs.google.com) released their new product named Google Spreadsheets.(http://spreadsheets.google.com) Google Spreadsheets is a web-based spreadsheet product that makes it easier for people to create and share spreadsheets on the web. It enables people to create simple web-based spreadsheets that others can simultaneously update from their own computers. It’s a free, secure service that will save people the hassle of manually consolidating spreadsheets from others – a tedious and mind-numbing task.

It has the following benefits:
1. Share spreadsheets instantly & collaborate real-time.- Pick exactly who can access your spreadsheets.
2. Edit your spreadsheets from anywhere.- Nothing to download — your browser is all you need.
3. Store your spreadsheets securely online.- Offsite storage plus multi-site data backup.
4. Easy to use.- Import your current spreadsheets to get started quickly.
- Clean, uncluttered screens with a familiar desktop.

I started using it a few weeks. I am now have an online backup for my daily expenses, my marks, my car’s mileage etc. U can have separate sheets for entering various type of data. It is given through invitations only and u can register in the site for a free invitation. Google Spreadsheets is currently compatible with IE 6 (Windows), FireFox 1.07, 1.5+ (Windows, Mac, Linux).

Start using it now. It is similar to an online version of MS Excel.
