Posted by Anish. No Comments

The untold story of 2008’s terrorist attack on the Indian city of Mumbai. The story is told in the words of its victims and the gunmen.

Channel 4 – Terror in Mumbai

Produced and directed by award-winning filmmaker Dan Reed, Terror in Mumbai tells the story of what happened when 10 gunmen held one of the world’s busiest cities hostage; killing and wounding hundreds of people while holding India’s crack security forces.

Featuring footage of the attacks and interviews with senior police officers and hostages, including the testimony from Kasab – the sole surviving gunman, Dispatches reveals what happened, hour by hour, from the perspective of the security forces, the terrorists, their masterminds and the victims.

How gr8 is ma new reliance GSM connection?

Posted by Anish. No Comments

Yesterday i bought my new reliance GSM prepaid connection named as “Simple Reliance Plan”. Even though I never used to trust Reliance before, I decided to give a try and I never thought it will be so easier for me. My existing prepaid connection with vodafone was giving me a lot of cost cutting even though i use it for more than 2 hours daily.

Yesterday I got to see a newspaper AD  regarding this new offer in Reliance GSM connection. I am not going into too much blabbering about them. I will give a clear cut idea about their specialities.

* 50ps/MIN to any phone inside INDIA
* 50ps/sms even if its a national or local sms.

NEXT is the special one.

* the above charges are applicable even if you are in roaming. ;) ;) that means you will never feel a difference even if I go to my home in Kerala ;) . First of its kind in INDIA ;)

* incoming charges is 50ps/MIN during roaming.

So I can say that its just less than 1ps/sec even in roaming. My savings on phone bills are going to be 300% now, as I travel a lot ;)

Then about the rest of the features:

* Cost of the SIM -> Rs 35/- and Rs 51 recharge to activate the above call rates. So total cost is Rs 86. only and you will get Lifetime validity ;)
* Full talktime on topups above Rs. 100 ;) . For more details visit.[http://www.rcom.co.in/webapp/Communications/website/GSM/top_upcards.jsp]

* High speed GPRS usage @ 1ps/1Kb and without any rent or recharge. You can subscribe from your phone itself without going out of your room. Tata Docomo and Vodafone GPRS speeds only upto 70KBits/sec, but I am getting 149KBits/sec in my phone. ;) . Tested using [http://www.dslreports.com/mspeed]

* Major banks like HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank etc supports online recharging of your Reliance GSM Phone

For more details visit. [http://www.rcom.co.in/webapp/Communications/website/GSM/customer_experience.jsp]

Give a try, and I will keep posting if I am facing some troubles with this connection. ;) stay tuned

PT Usha humiliated? Disrespect is India’s style statement?

Posted by Anish. 1 Comment

Just now I read the news article from IBN. [http://ibnlive.in.com/news/pt-usha-humiliated-in-bhopal-breaks-down/102770-5.html]. Felt like we should shout at those guys. It was not the Indian culture to disrespect people like her. She is one of the most famous Indian women, who brought fame and glory to India. When I was child, I heard a story about her glory after the Olympics. One of her fan wanted to mail (snail mail ;) ) and since he didn’t know the address of her, that guy simply posted the mail with the address as “P T Usha, India” and it came directly to her house at Payyolly.

She even started an athletics school in her town, training hundreds of brilliant children into world class athletes. Such people are of less in number who is truly contributing to the nation where it’s a herculean task to get 10 gold medals in any Olympics even though we are 1.2 billion in number.

India was never competent to host any sort of International games till now. Even though we get a chance, we will never try to show off with that opportunity. Take the case of commonwealth games itself. Yesterday one of the major news was that India is 3 months behind the schedule and God only knows about the real condition of the preperations is.

One small hole can sink a ship. Similarly one bad remark on us will stay for many years. And that can affect the opportunity of India to host any other international event.
